Founded as a natural history museum in 1821, the University of Manchester-owned museum has grown to play host to a fascinating collection of exhibits.

From a fossilised Tyrannosaurus Rex named Stan, anthropology collections from South America to the Museum's Manchester gallery; the museum will leave you desperate for more. In addition to the permanent exhibits, regular special exhibitions take place throughout the year. A highly recommended spot for a break, Cafe Muse sits right next door.

Families visiting Manchester Museum will see the world come to life. See the Ancient Worlds and Living Worlds gallery, visit our zoology collection in Natures Library, and the Vivarium where you can see live reptiles and frogs as they would be in their natural habitat.
